People come to Waypoint from many places in their journey.
Some are just beginning. Some are returning. Some are still sorting through questions they’ve carried for a long time. Here, there is room to be honest, to grow at your own pace, and to take the next step without pretending. We’re building a community where people from every background can experience genuine, biblical relationship with God and with each other. We care deeply about our neighbors, whether they live across the street or across the world, and we try to reflect that care with open hands and open hearts. We intentionally pour into our kids and students, helping them discover who God created them to be and the purpose He’s shaping in their lives. We believe stories matter. Questions are welcome. Struggles don’t disqualify people from walking with God or with others. Waypoint is a place to walk together, grow together, and learn what it looks like to follow Jesus in everyday life.We take Jesus’ Great Commission to heart. We share the Gospel with love, mercy, and compassion, walking with people as they discover the life God created them to live.
We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4)—the Creator of all things—who has revealed Himself to us as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is not distant or detached, but actively involved in our lives, drawing us toward Himself.
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3–6; Colossians 2:11–14; Acts 2:38). We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues, just as experienced by the early Church (Acts 2:4). This experience empowers us to live out our faith with boldness, joy, and spiritual authority.
We also believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active and alive today. God ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation, prophecy, words of wisdom and knowledge, discerning of spirits, faith, miracles, healing, helps, and government (Mark 16:15–18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1–11).
These beliefs aren’t just doctrines on a page—they shape the way we live, love, and serve. They guide us as we walk together in community, grow deeper in our faith, and pursue everything God has called us to be.
